How is the battery charged?
Depending on the configuration of your home solar system, the battery can be charged by either your solar system or the grid. Charging from the grid should be scheduled during off-peak hours when electricity rates are lowest.

Batteries are an excellent way to manage energy needs and control energy costs. If the battery holds a charge, you can use that stored energy during peak hours or at night without drawing power from the grid.
